Action World

Yesterday the seniors went to action world we had a ton of fun. First we had to walk to Action World. Then when we got there we had to go under this big tent, this lady Carol she explained the rules then she took the kids who haven't been and showed them around.  First Carol said the girls go on the slide first and the boys do the activities. I went on the slide about five times and it was amazing, the girls that didn't want to go on the slide they did mini golf. After all the girls were done on the water slide and got dressed the boys got to have their turn.  While the boys were on the water slide the girls were doing the activities. The activity I went on was rock climbing trapeze this other swinging one and this spinning activity. After we had a play we had to pack up and walk back to school

Tessellations

• Tessellations
  Today we did tessellations.  Tessellations are a shape that repeats the pattern  more than five times and fills with no gaps and spaces.  The best shape is a quadrilateral. Step 1 make a Google Drawing.  Step 2 make a four sided shape. Step 3 rotate one of the quadrilateral.  Step 4 Align the quadrilateral against the other one. Step 5 hold down shift then click on the other quadrilateral to select both of them.  Step 6 press ctrl, alt, g to group them. Step 7 press ctrl d. To duplicate them. Step 8 Keep repeating till you cover most of the page.

Are You Doing The Right Thing At The Right Time

For Cyber smart we have been doing are you doing the right thing at the right time. I liked it when we were taking screenshots of the things that is what you should be on.

T- Shaped Literacy

Last term we did some T- Shaped literacy about marine life.Here are some facts:There is way more rubbish in the sea than you think their is. Whale sharks can grow up to 18 metres. Turtles breathe like humans. Squid weigh up to 275 kilograms. The thing I liked most about sea life is learning all the facts about them.The activities we did were classification table, ad, powtoon and flow chart.The activity I liked the most was advertisement.

Melting Ice - Blocks

On the 25 of September  we did an experiment about trying not to let your ice blocks melt in the sun for 1 in a half hour.My group was Charlize & Poet. Our plan was to get some material, cardboard, polystyrene foam, cardboard holder, ruler, lunch bags, juicies and sellotape. When our juicies were in the sun for 1 and a ½ hours it started to melt.That's maybe why it was cold in our creation. I think our creation didn’t work because we put too many layers on.

Geometry Maths

This week my class Te Maunga we have been doing math about geometry. What worksheet I liked the most is starting from scratch. I like starting from scratch is because you can do any shape you want. I REALLY LIKE GEOMETRY MATH!!

Time DLO

This past week we have been learning about time in our maths conferencing groups. My math group is Pharell, Amelia and me. I learnt that the minute hand is the long hand because it is a longer word and the hour hand is the shorthand because it is a shorter word. Did you know that 120 seconds is 2 minutes?

Cross Country

Last Friday on the 30th of August we had cross country. I had to run with the  9 year old because it was my birthday. We had to run around the field once, over the gate, around a cone, up the hill, around another cone, then back down the hill, over the gate again, then down to the finish line. What I came in cross country was 5th place. I loved everything. The thing I loved the most was that my two little cousins Anahera & Ezekiel and my Mum and Aunty was there to support me & my sister. My class Te Maunga practiced at school everyday & every week except for Friday  The whole class ran except for Teah and Charlize.I improved 5 to 6 times in running.
