My Amazing Student Reflection!

Last week in Te Ngahere for writing we were writing our end of year student reflection. For our EOYSR (end of year student reflection)we had to write  something you have accomplished this year that you are proud of, a subject that you think you have made your biggest achievement in, your biggest challenge and something you are grateful for. I enjoyed writing my reflection because I remember those fun things we did during the year, funny things we did and most of all my memories. Something I am grateful for is the children and teachers/teacher aids in Te Ngahere because everyone is helpful, kind and encouraging. I am also grateful for the free lunches we get because the food is delicious and Sasha has a variety of food. Also because some children at other schools or in the world might not get any lunch so I am grateful that I get lunch.

What’s something you are grateful for?

My Best Piece Of Writing Ever

Kia ora bloggers this week in Te Ngahere we have been learning how to write a narrative

and want to make people read our writing. We were learning how to enhance our writing

to create a powerful and emotional response to our readers. We watched a short film about

this little boy who lost his wing and these evil mean birds always picked on him. I tried to use

vivid adjectives in my writing and some other writing language features. I used the class

tuhituhi slide presentation that the teachers made to help me to add more detail and description

to my writing so I can try to get a picture In my readers minds. I found it hard trying to add a lot

of description, trying rewrite the story and try to get a picture in my readers minds. The easy thing

for me was when I went to my first writing conference group I got feedback so it helped me make

my writing better and improve on my first piece of writing. In my first writing conference the group

I was conferencing with I was a rubric 4 then we had another writing conference on Tuesday this

week and now I am a high 4 and low 5 I am so happy.

Have you been in a writing conference before?

Here is the link to the video we watched.

Kindness Letter

In Te Maunga we have been doing kindness letters. We wrote our kindness letters because we wanted to give them to people who were lonely during lockdown. We also tried to put inspiration and joy into our kindness letter.

Diary Writing

In Te Maunga during the lockdown some of the year 5s got to take their chromebook home to finish off work at home. When we were at home we got some tasks to finish off. One of them was diary writing for one of the pages on my slides. I talked about what I did for the day. We also got to choose if we wanted to put pictures on our slide. For one of the days me and my family walked and did some gym stuff I didn’t see very much except for this little girl that comes to my school. Here are two of my pages for what I did on my slide Diary Writing.
