An Amazing Mothers Day!

On Sunday the 9th of May for mothers day we made breakfast for my mum. We made her eggs benedict, with spinach, bacon, hollandaise sauce and eggs. While my dad and sister were making breakfast I was massaging my mums feet. I picked an outfit for my mum to wear and by the time my mum was dressed breakfast was ready. When we finished breakfast we had a little rest and sleep for about 2 hours.  After our rest we went to my brothers house to have a mothers day dinner. The first thing we did was say hello and happy mothers day to all the mums there. About ten minutes after we got there dinner was ready (my brother was cooking for all the mother’s). We had  barbeque, macaroni and cheese, red sausages and croissants with ham, tomatoes and cheese in it. For dessert we had neapolitan ice - cream, choc chip pancakes and my cousin made a big cookie that was a mothers day edition. When everyone finished dinner and desert we all rested our tummies and an hour and a half later we all left and said thank you. What I loved about mothers day the most was that my mum enjoyed the day and had an amazing day with her whanau.

What did you do for mothers day?

An Amazing Mothers Day Gathering

 On Saturday My family and I did a mothers day celebration it was for any mothers and welcome to anyone to join. We had breakfast, Brunch, lunch and dessert. For the mothers day gathering the husbands and men were cooking for all of the wahine and there was about 80 wahine there. The wahine were so pleased and thankful to all the men that cooked for them. We did this gathering in Moerewa at the Moerewa Christian Fellowship. We did this gathering because we wanted to do this with other mothers and we also wanted to acknowledge the mothers. There also hasn’t been a gathering like this before in Moerewa. What I think I did well was that I was helping out with setting up, packing up and helping the Kuia. What I could have done better was that I should of helped more in the kitchen doing the dishes because there was a lot of dishes and a lot of wahine. I did the dishes about one or two times. What I learnt was that mothers do great things in our life and are beautiful in all ways.

What were you doing the day before mothers day?

The Celebration Of Shivam's 10th Birthday

In Te Ngahere we went to Greens Indian Cuisine in Paihia because it

was Shivams birthday. Shivams parents own the restaurant so we all

got to eat for free. We were celebrating his 10th birthday with the

whole class, the teachers, the amazing cooks and his family. When

we were settled in for lunch we said our karakia and then got given

our food. We had butter chicken with rice and garlic naan bread.

When I tasted the butter chicken it was so nice and delicious that I

wanted more. It was so generous and kind of them to invite us to their

restaurant. When we all finished our food two of my classmates Angela

(my sister) and Jade said a mihi for the whole class and gave Shivam a

card. Just before we left we asked everyone to come to the front of the

restaurant so we could do a performance and show how grateful and

happy we are. We did a few waiata and on the last waiata we sang with

all we’ve got to show how grateful we were. At the end they gave us all

a big easter egg to say happy easter and thanks for coming to celebrate

Shivam’s birthday.

My Aunty’s Best Surprise Ever

 At the end of February my family and I surprised my Aunty for her birthday. The day we were doing the surprise we took her out so that they could set up. We told her that we were having a family meeting and having a girls day out for her birthday. We had to act normal so that she doesn’t suspect anything and that we are being all suspicious. My whole family knew about it but her. We first took her to a cafe in Kerikeri, it was called The Rusty Tractor. We had a nice breakfast there and before we left the owner surprised her with a little cake. After breakfast we went to the market and had a little walk around we also  got her some presents for her birthday but we said she couldn’t open them till we get home. After the market we went to Makanna cafe to have a hot Chocolate (my sister got  ice cream instead). When we got back home we went inside to see if they cleaned up because they said they would but they didn’t. When she went outside she was so happy and felt loved more than ever. My cousin who is her daughter videoed it all and she also made her cake.
