Filmmaking

In Te Maunga we have been making films for the film festival. The thing I learnt about filmmaking is that you have to get all the shots that you need and what types of shots you’re gonna get in the film. The types of shots we got were mid shot, wide shot and long shot.

Geometry

In Te Maunga we have been learning about geometry. The thing I learnt about geometry was that cubes have six faces, twelve edges and eight vertices. Vertices are basically corners but just different names. One of the activities I did was we had to colour in 3d shapes, then we had to cut, glue and there you have a 3d shape.

Treasure Hunt

In Te Maunga on 28th of August we did a Treasure hunt. We had to try and find these little gumboots. It was really hard because our gumboots were really little and it was smaller than the little kids so we had to turn our looking eyes on and take a good look. The prizes were rose gold headphones, a bag of lollies, chicken and chips pack from Four Square, a soccer ball, a handball, Eskimo pies and $5 dollars. We were raising money for Sam Godsiff - Johnson and the charity I Am Hope.

And That is my Friend Charlize who won a prize!!!

Probability

In Te Maunga we have been learning about probability. If you don’t know what probability is I will tell you, probability is a type of math where you do all these types of activities and a math DLO. What I learnt for probability is that when you're playing Sneaky Snakes the most common number is three well for us it was. What I liked the most was when my group was playing Spending Splurge and I got all of the items and they only got two of the items. My group was Manaaki and Luke.

How To Keep Safe Online

In Te Maunga we have been learning how to keep safe online. We also did a DLO about cybersmart and kawa of care, this is what I learnt. I learnt that you shouldn't accept a friend request from someone you don’t know but if it’s from someone you do know then you can accept it if you ask your parents first. You also have to be thirteen and over to have these apps, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Tik Tok. It's okay if you are doing Tik Toks and photos on your parents account just don’t tell people where you live, what number your letter box is and when it is your birthday.

Soundscape

In Te Maunga last week we did Soundscapes. All we had to do was get the things you needed for your soundscape, my group was Jacinta-Lee, Anika and Charlize, our theme was nature. These are the the things we used for our soundscape, we used jellybeans for the rain, snapped branches for branches snapping, Anika blew for the wind and Jacinta-Lee whistled for birds chirping. What I learnt was you could make more than 3 sounds with your mouth.
