My Amazing Student Reflection!

Last week in Te Ngahere for writing we were writing our end of year student reflection. For our EOYSR (end of year student reflection)we had to write  something you have accomplished this year that you are proud of, a subject that you think you have made your biggest achievement in, your biggest challenge and something you are grateful for. I enjoyed writing my reflection because I remember those fun things we did during the year, funny things we did and most of all my memories. Something I am grateful for is the children and teachers/teacher aids in Te Ngahere because everyone is helpful, kind and encouraging. I am also grateful for the free lunches we get because the food is delicious and Sasha has a variety of food. Also because some children at other schools or in the world might not get any lunch so I am grateful that I get lunch.

What’s something you are grateful for?

Wacky Wednesday

Kia Ora bloggers, today is Wacky Wednesday at Paihia School. It happens once a year at my school, we get to dress up wacky and we get to choose anything we want to wear. This year I was a fairy and I matched with my sister and her Bff. When I was getting ready I was wondering would anyone be dressed up but when I arrived at school there was a lot of people dressed up especially the teachers and everyone looked amazingly wacky. Me and some other students we went to classrooms and bedazzled the teachers and to see how they dressed up. Today was one of my favourite days of the year, it is so cool seeing people dressed up. We took a lot of photos.

Does your school do wacky Wednesday?

Attributing images

Kia ora bloggers, in Te Ngahere we have been learning to Attribute Images. We had to make sure we are allowed to use the images that we want.

From this experience I learnt how to make sure we are allowed to use the images that we want to use. In the future I will keep on trying to use the images that I know I’m allowed to use.

Something I learnt was how to get the license from explore tools and this site called Wikimedia Commons

What I think I need to work on is everytime when I search for images I go to tools, usage rights and then creative commons licence for usage right images.

Do you know how to Attribute images?

Cybersmart Challenge 23: Scams and Phishing

Kia ora in Te Ngahere we did the Manaiakalani Cybersmart Scams or Phishing DLO. We had to watch the video first from the Manaiakalani blog, next we made a copy of the doc, then we had to see if they were scamming or phishing and write why. We were looking at a photo,  email or a pop up and to see if they were legit or fake. Some ways to keep yourself safe when these things happen is tell your whanau, your teachers or don’t even open it. You can also go on social media to see if anyone sells free PS5’s. Scamming is when someone is trying to rip you off, lying to you and giving you back nothing. For example: you give them 5 dollars and they say they will repay you but they don’t. Phishing is when someone tries to get all your personal information such as emails, passwords, phone numbers, card numbers, date of birth, full name and more. I learnt what phishing means and how to tell if someone is scamming or phishing you. For example: you got an email and someone was giving away free PS5 and you had to look at the picture and find the clues to see if it was legit or fake.

Have you done this challenge yet?

I will embed my DLO

Happy Fathers Day Daddy!

Yesterday On Sunday the September 5th it was a very special day for my Dad because it was Fathers Day and we wanted my dad to have an Amazing Fathers Day. In The morning at about 7:20 me and my sister woke up to make breakfast for my Dad. Before we made Breakfast we said Happy Fathers Day to my Dad and then my Mum woke up and then we started making breakfast for him. The night before Fathers Day my Mum made some homemade muesli cereal and then my Mum and I made some shortbread biscuits. For breakfast we cooked some scrambled eggs, bacon, baked beans, hash browns, muesli and 2 Shortbread biscuits to go with his Tea. Then my sister made some eggs and bacon for us, but I didn’t eat that I had out leftover dinner from last night because it was like a breakfast because it was a pastry pie with spaghetti, bacon, eggs and cheese in it (I had 3 of them, I also didn’t have the ones with eggs in it). We finished breakfast about 9:50am. After that we had a little rest and then at about 3.00pm or 2:50pm we went to the dumpster to drop off some rubbish then we went to the Opua wharf for a little bit. It was I bit cold so we went to the far right side of Paihia beach and had a little walk. Then we went to Countdown to get some groceries and we got some ice-cream ice-blocks, so we went to the beach and ate our Ice-cream Ice-blocks there. Then we came home and my Mum was making dinner. Not so long after we got home we had dinner and for dinner we had Pork chops, mashed potatoes, vegetables and garlic bread, All of it was homemade. Then we watched some movies and went to bed.

What did you do for Fathers Day?

My Amazing 11th Birthday In Lockdown

Kia Ora Bloggers On August 30th it was my birthday and it was the best day in lockdown. In the morning I woke up and my Mum and Dad said not to look towards the kitchen because it was a surprise. When my sister walked passed she looked towards the kitchen and she said for me (if your wondering why she said that you will find out soon). First I washed my face fixed my hair up a little bit and my sister and my mum guided me to the dining table and told me to sit on the chair. Then they told me I could open my eyes and it was my breakfast. For breakfast my mum and dad cooked waffles with berries, banana, ice-cream and maple syrup. Then they sang happy birthday and I ate my breakfast (they also had the same as me just they did it themselves. Then had a rest, played. Then we watched some TV. After we watched TV we went and drew on our driveway with chalk. I wrote “It’s My Birthday” and drew other things. While we were drawing outside my mum was making dinner for my birthday and my dad was making my cake. After we came inside because we used up most of the space and  it was getting a bit chilli. About 20 minutes later dinner was ready. For dinner we had Fettuccine, Spaghetti Bolognese, Crumbed Chicken and Pull Apart Bread. After we had dinner we had a rest and  then said Happy Birthday to me with my cake. For my cake I had a Brownie. After we played pictionary and we teamed up in two’s. I went with my mum and my mum and I won the game. Then we played twister. After that we went to bed. It was so fun.

What did you do on August 30th?

Four Shot Movie Making

Kia ora, in Te Ngahere we have been making four shot movies to help us with our real movie.

We got to choose what it was about and we had to include four shots establishing shot, long

distance, mid shot and close up. If you are wondering what each shot is establishing shot is

where the movie will take place, long distance is introducing your character for the first time,

mid shot shows you more information and detail about your character and close up is what

the character is doing or holding. For mid shot I don’t think we did it properly because we

didn’t really get the meaning of it because it’s supposed to show half of your characters

body but we showed the characters whole body. What I think my group did well was we

filmed establishing shot, long distance and close up really well but not mid shot. What we

could have done better was filmed our mid shot how you are actually supposed to film it.

How this four shot movie has helped me to make my proper movie is that I know what

shots are good for each scene of your movie and I know what these shots are. I learnt

what these four shots are, what they mean and how to film a movie.

Have you done a four shot movie before?
